It’s time for AMTR once again and we are going where we’ve never gone before… to the kitchen. Don’t get me wrong, I frequent the kitchen because that’s where the snacks are… but this is uncharted territory when it comes to our beloved series that highlights a new artist each month.
We decided to design a colorful kitchen around Amanda Petro’s 12x12 piece, St. Kitts II. We envisioned this piece taking centerstage against some dreamy textured tile and wooden open shelves in a kitchen that has all of my favorite things – color, pattern and ART.
Amanda is an oil painter born and raised in Alabama. She currently resides in Birmingham after graduating from the Graduate Painting program at SCAD. Amanda believes "each color has a distinct personality" and in "letting paint be paint." Both of these beliefs are evident in her brilliant use of color / texture in every single one of her pieces and we can most definitely get behind that.
As always, the painting is available to purchase through Amanda and everything you see on the Moodboard below is shoppable, so that you can have this original work and happy kitchen for yourself!
ART | SHELF | BACKSPLASH | RUG | BARSTOOL | SINK | CABINET | FLOOR TILE | OVEN | CUTTING BOARD | PLATES | FRENCH PRESS
Although Amanda typically works with oil paints she has created a collection of Mosaïques that are all kinds of wonderful. If you have stuck with us this long, you know what we are going to say next: we are giving away Amanda's pretties over on Insta (see below)!
