If you don't know by now that P A T T E R N P L A Y is my number one love interest, then you must be new here. To you friend, I say "hello!" but to my husband Kevin, I say,"Just kidding!! That was just a joke to get my point across, stop freaking out. I love you more than patterns... obviously."
Bottom line - I love patterns and the more the merrier so people who are down with all the colors and all the patterns are dream clients. Case in point, the clients who we designed this pattern-packed living room for.
We started the process with that dreamy dragon print that the client had picked up off etsy and the ball rolled from there. There were only 4 yds available but we knew that it would pack the biggest punch as panels so we added a panel of a contrasting small print fabric on the bottom to meet our desired length.
The narrow room called for a coffee table that didn’t distract... Enter lucite. This long space with a large window, called for conversation as the key player so the sitting area shines while the TV takes the back row.
The big ol’ console table anchors the room and pulls in my favorite shade, yellow… across the room from my other favorite shade, green on the sofa. The sofa serves as the canvas for a major pattern party where we brought in a pagoda print, with a textured velvet and an Ikat that is on FIRE!
Colorful and cozy was the plan and this mix of traditional and funk exceeds that goal + creates the perfect spot to swivel the day away in those blue velvet chairs. That's a win-win in my book!
