Y’all normally hear me talk about going all out on color and yammering something like “more is more is more is more”. Well, for this kitchen / living room renovation project, we took a different approach. My challenge… the client wanted to take their "Hello 1965!" kitchen to crisp, clean and current with just a little color in the textiles, art and accessories.
F U N fact: my fave cake is vanilla with more vanilla icing and just a few colorful sprinkles on top. So... as long as I thought about cake, neutral with a little pop is really part of who I am. That was a long way to get to the point which is that although this was out of my comfort zone of color errywhere, I couldn’t be more thrilled with this calm, cheerful space.
We started with knocking down walls and opening up the kitchen into the LR space. Then entered a bright white new kitchen via cabinets from John Fulton and even a special dog bowl station for the star of this show, Stella. Added a whole bunch of quartzite and then ya know… tile, lighting, appliances. Viola, Kitchen!

Then we took to furnishing the LR and you can see we still kept things pretty neutral with our large pieces. The whole project got snazzed up when it came to accessories, art, and textiles which was of course, the most fun part. Rugs, Pillows, and Paintings oh my!
So there you have it, proof that neutral can still pop and have plenty of personality!
