It’s that time of year. The time of year when dining rooms across America really get their "dining room" on. A time when we all come together to spend time with family and friends. To recount what we are thankful for and ... to feast.
This dining room that we finished up earlier in the year welcomes you when you enter the home and invites you in. Soft golds and teals are complimented by darker, bolder hues creating a space that feels light, airy, bold, and dramatic all at once- playing scene to holidays and non-holidays alike throughout the year.

A good friend gifted me with a book this week for my birthday, Simple Abundance, and I’ve been flipping around reading out of order, landing on whatever page catches my eye. I was struck last night with the words for June 8th. In the excerpt titled “In Praise of Dining Rooms” the author Sarah Ban Breathnach goes on to sum up the importance of dining rooms in our lives with these words. “Much more than casual eating takes place here. Newspapers are read, mail is sorted, conversations are started, homework is completed, flowers are arranged, games are played, confidences shared, family and friends are gathered. Here, at this replica of the Greek goddess Hestia’s round hearth, rites of passage are commemorated, holidays are celebrated, daily grace is offered, minds, bodies, and spirits are nourished.”
I certainly can’t think of better words to celebrate living in our spaces. This week as we gather around with family and friends, there are so many things that I am thankful for, but the opportunity to help families create spaces in which to live out their beautiful lives on the daily is way, way, way up at the top.
Happy Thanksgiving friends!
