• Traditional Dining Room with a Twist

This dining room that we completed for a client a few months ago has a little bit to offer everyone! You’ve got enough tradition to rock grandma’s silver on turkey day and enough whimsy to handle b-day cakes and balloons alike. Everyone feels cozy and there’s enough seating for the whole fam.

We started the space with the rug and table that the client found on her own and built the room from there. The rug definitely could have taken our color scheme in a moody direction but we chose to focus on the lighter tones and pull those out to make the space feel light and airy. We added in fun animal print fabric that mimicked the rug along with light velvets and wood tones, florals and yellow geometrics. A chandelier with traditional lines but an updated take plays to our tradition with a twist vibe along with bright modern lamps, modern art from Teresa Roche and a gallery wall that makes the space feel updated and long-established all at once!

Particularly exciting was this spaces feature in Talk Magazine’s “My Favorite Room” section that you can pickup or see online through the end of the July! The feature focused on one side of the room but here on the blog, we’ve got an extra view for you! A cozy sofa and gallery wall that helps this space go from before dinner lounging and drinks, straight to the main event…  & then right back to lounging. My kind of dinner party!
